Our mission with our kids mixed martial arts program is to provide them with the best character development/self defense program. So while the kids train they will be excited to see that this martial arts program is practical and will actually work if they ever have to defend themselves and that you will see improvements with their self discipline, focus, respect for parents and teachers, improved grades, confidence and overall improvements in their health and fitness.

We offer character development for children through our kids mixed martial arts karate program. Your children will learn Mixed Martial Arts, which is a mix of Thai Boxing, and Gracie Jiu-Jitsu.  Along with awesome self defense, they will learn how to become leaders, to speak in public, to set goals, self discipline, honor and integrity.

Kids today just don’t get enough exercise! Between PlayStation, Wii, Nintendo, Xbox, Facebook, smart phones and whatever other godforsaken game that they find on the computer, it just seems harder and harder to keep them active. When I was growing up my PlayStation was called outside – in fact I hated to be inside! With todays youth, it’s just the opposite. Send them outside and it’s almost immediately, “I’m bored”. That has to change!

We want to help you, help your children understand that sitting down all day in school and then sitting down all night in front of the screen is not healthy. But after a while kids view mom and dad as somebody that doesn’t know what they’re talking about. Let us be another common sense voice that your kids hear.

It is my firm belief (which is backed up not by theory, but by proof) that Mixed Martial Arts, when combined with the true Combative Martial Arts, is the best self defense system on the planet. Classes

Youth Mixed Martial Arts – The core of the focus will be Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. We are affiliated with Rodrigo Gracie. After exhibiting self control and showing a high level of self discipline kickboxing will be introduced. Jiu-Jitsu is easier to use and more natural with kids having to defend themselves against other kids. Classes will be broken up by age. 5-7 and 8-12. Our character development program has been intertwined with each lesson. Your children will learn, self control, self discipline, laser like focus (sounds goofy but you will see it immediately). Respect for parents and teachers and other lost skills that were once an American staple.

Rodrigo Gracie Jiu-Jitsu – This class is geared toward self defense based Jiu-Jitsu. Our primary focus is to make sure if you are assaulted that the self defense Jiu-Jitsu we have taught you can be put to use. We are not a tournament based school. We love tounaments but understand that when people sign up to train martial arts they are usually wanting self defense. The culture of the school will dictate what is focused upon. Competing in tournaments has many benefits but we choose to put self defense as our main curriculum.

Kickboxing – There are many styles of kickboxing with different rule sets. American kickboxing, Muay Thai, K1, International and the list goes on. The striking system is based on what is practical for Mixed Martial Arts, which has the least restrictive rule sets and is more practical for self defense. You will get a great workout while practicing punches, kick, knees, elbows, clinch work, range, how to defend yourself using striking whether your opponent is a grappler, striker or untrained assailant.

 


What Else…
On the day of your free class, just show up 10-15 minutes early to fill out some basic paperwork. Wear loose, comfortable clothing and be prepared to go barefoot unless you have wrestling or boxing shoes.  Make sure you bring your I.D.  (Sorry, you will not be allowed to try a class without an I.D. No exceptions.) If you are under 18, you will need to have a parent with you to fill out the paperwork and they need to watch the entire first class.
